An immersive experiential journey

We have carefully curated an experience that is expertly designed to take you on a journey through the shadows, the lights and everything in between.

Our core foundations at Auro are rooted in community. We believe that it takes true power to step into vulnerability and share from our heart in a group and we have witnessed this be truly transformational over and over again. Our programme focuses on this community as well as thorough integration, so you can step back into your day to day life well resourced and able to traverse any changes that may have arisen from your legal psilocybin experience with us.

Whether or not you have experiences taking psychoactive substances in or out of a ceremonial setting or not you will be held safely by us throughout the whole process. We have preparation sessions focused around answering any questions you may have about psychedelics, how they work, what you might expect during the journey and after etc. There will be an opportunity for you to ask our facilitators any curiosities you may have as well as be guided through some supportive practices.

The venue itself is well versed in hosting medicine retreats and will be providing nutritious plant based food and comfortable areas to sleep and relax during your stay. To us integrative practices can be as important as the psilocybin ceremony itself so we have designed a retreat that will nurture all of your being. This will include but is not limited to embodied movement, breathwork techniques, cold immersion and sauna, meditation and sharing circles.

Please visit our family page to discover who will be supporting your journey with us. The faces and description on the page will soon come to life as we embark on our prepatory programme that will lead us in readiness to our gathering.

If you have an questions before you submit your application please send us a message. We can also send you more information including a sample schedule for the psilocybin retreat experience itself.

FAQs

I've never experienced psychoactive substances before, is this journey suitable for me?

Absolutely. We have guided many friends through their first journeys and beyond. We will provide everything you need in order to prepare and integrate the experience both with 1-1 and community care. That being said there are a few contraindications, on application please be as clear and concise with your answers as possible and if you have any queries just give us a message and one of the family will respond soon.

How do I book onto this retreat?

Simply click on the apply now button placed around this website. You will then be taken to a form for you to fill in asking you details on your past and current life from relationships, drug and alcohol use, any physical or mental conditions. This will allow us to see if you are a right fit for our retreat. We will then be in touch to let you know if you have been successful in which you will then be asked to pay your deposit. Once deposit is paid you will be entered into the group and dates for the pre check ins will be sent to you.

What is the health screen process?

The health screen process is part of the application. This will take a look into your past and current physical and mental health conditions (if you have any). This will allow us to evaluate to see if you are the right fit and we feel this retreat will be beneficial to you.

What is psilocybin?

Psilocybin is the psychedelic compound found in psychedelic mushrooms and truffles. Upon entering the body, it is quickly metabolised into psilocin, which is responsible for psychedelic effects.

Psilocybin acts on serotonin at the 5-HT2A receptor, increasing the amount of serotonin available in the brain, and producing profound changes in perception, such as visual and auditory hallucinations, tactile perceptions (such as tingling or warmth), and synaesthesia (the merging of senses).
Users of psilocybin report entering a profound state of mind where the usual limits of consciousness are expanded. Realizations about the self and the universe may come to the forefront, and people will often describe feelings of unity, interconnectedness, and unconditional love. Studies have shown that psilocybin can induce a mystical experience and that this positively correlates with the benefits that participants report following the psychedelic experience.

What are truffles?

According to recent studies, Truffles and mushrooms containing psilocybin are the safest drug currently known (safer than tobacco, cannabis, and alcohol). These substances are non-addictive, non-toxic, and when taken within a structured setting under the guidance of professionals, hold little to no risk.

What is the dose I will take of psilocybin?

During the retreat, we will work with you to figure out your dosage. We will do this by having a one-to-one conversation with you prehand. From that conversation and also the conversations leading up to the retreat we will come to an agreement on what is best for you. This will be based on your intentions, previous experience with psychedelics and also your current state of wellbeing.

On average we use doses between 15 and 45 grams of fresh truffles containing psilocybin. This is comparable to the doses used in research studies. As a rule of thumb, one gram of fresh truffles contains approximately 1mg of psilocybin, alongside other alkaloids such as psilocin, baeocystin and nor-baeocystin. During your first psychedelic experience, we usually recommend slightly lower doses, to allow you to become more comfortable with non-ordinary states of consciousness.

Can I come with a friend or close relative?

Depending on your reason for wanting to come on this retreat. If you feel safer coming with a friend and your intention is to explore altered/expanded levels of consciousness then coming with a friend could be the perfect option to choose. If you on the other hand are looking to go deep within your own psych and explore the depths of a previous experience of your life, coming on your own where no one knows you which can give you the space to be yourself fully without the expectation of being a persona of yourself a friend/family member might expect outside of this retreat.

Is taking psilocybin safe?

In a controlled environment with the correct set and setting with the right build up, support and aftercare by both yourself and the dedicated team psilocybin is one of the safest drugs to take in the world.

Can I get addicted to taking psilocybin?

Psilocybin is non addictive and actually if you take two doses close together or take frequently your tolerance to substance will have increased rendering them less effective. Studies have also shown that through use of psilocybin has reduced addictiveness to other substances in users.

What is the minimum age to attend the retreat?

The minimum age we recommend anyone to attend our retreats is 25. If you are 21-24 and would like to attend our retreats please email us as we take these on a case by case basis. bookings@auroretreats.com

Cancelation policy if I can not attend?

- If you wish to cancel your trip with Auro House and the retreat is more than 30 days away you will be given a full refund minus a processing fee of £500. This covers the time spent preparing for your arrival and the one-to-one client calls you would have received beforehand.

If you wish to cancel and the retreat is less than 30 days then there is no refund but you will be able to book your place on a future retreat.

If you have found someone you would like to replace yourself with then that person would need to pass all the normal pre health checks.

I am currently taking antidepressants can I apply?

We are only able to offer places on our retreats to people on certain antidepressants. There is research to suggest that there might be additional risks involved with the use of antidepressants in use with truffles containing psilocybin. Please email us on bookings@auroretreats.com and we will be happy to discuss what medication you are on and if it is possible to attend our retreat.

Do you offer psychedelic therapy for people with a psychological condition?

Unfortunately this is not something Auro House offers at this time. Although our team is always at the forefront of implementing the best therapeutic work available. Through the psilocybin experience we create a safe space to allow you to deep dive into one's own consciousness and help guide you through whatever comes up, be that happy, sad, anger, fear etc. we are unable to provide treatment for traumas or similar conditions.

I have been to another ceremony involving psilocybin and need help processing the experience, can you help?

The team here at Auro House are always able to help listen and integrate a previous psychedelic experience. Some of our team are able to book for private sessions in which they offer psychedelic integration to help with some of the heavier experiences we have please email bookings@auroretreats.com to discuss further. Part of the prep of our retreat is about exploring previous psychedelic experiences and what came up to help better work through it if it does come up in a future trip (with Auro House or not).

Disclaimer - psilocybin is not legal in the UK and we do not advise people to take the medicine without being in a controlled set and setting.
